Welcome to the Northeast Chapter of the NEBB
National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB)

National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB)
Founded in 1971, NEBB has become a leading international authority for certifying firms that work with high‑performance building systems. Its mission is to set, promote, and uphold rigorous standards by certifying companies, professionals, and technicians in the industry. NEBB advances this mission through certification programs, procedural standards, specifications, seminars, publications, and the NEBB Quality Assurance Program.
The organization’s focus is on helping buildings perform at their best. Owners and tenants want energy‑efficient, cost‑effective environmental systems, and that goal is best achieved when testing, balancing, and commissioning are performed by a NEBB‑certified professional or technician.
Today there are more than 750 NEBB Certified Firms worldwide and over 3,000 Certified Professionals and Technicians. These specialists are recognized for their ability to measure and optimize building system performance and to deliver tailored solutions for clients. Certified firms provide services including testing, adjusting, and balancing of environmental systems; building systems commissioning; technical retro‑commissioning; sound and vibration measurement; building enclosure testing; fume hood testing; and cleanroom performance verification.
